A Challenge - One Week. No Food Buying. Will We Make It?

Ok, so I have read about loads of No Spend Challenges - there some determined savers out there who can even stick it out for a month!  And while this appeals to the part of me that loves saving a buck or two, it was decided that a week of no spending on food would be a good place to start.  So, this week, we will be looking at what we already have in the grocery cupboard, freezer and garden to prepare our meals.  If we don't have something we either get creative or do without.  I am allowing some 'cheats', namely bread and milk (hey..I don't have a cow in my backyard).  Currently at the close of day two and so far no not allowed money has been spent and some valuable lessons learnt - like we are really bad at keeping track and refreshing of the stock levels of basics.  So with hardly any oil, no flour and dwindling levels of rice (my go-to staple), it's going to be an interesting week...
